Plant flow chart

The plant takes in more than 40 million gallons a day of wastewater. After 24 hours of processing, about 97 percent of suspended solids and bacteria is removed. The resulting sludge is burned in an incinerator, and the processed water is chlorinated and discharged into the Susquehanna River.
